We milk our own small herd of Jersey cows once a day on our little farm near Robe.
Robe Dairy calves are not euthanised or sent for veal and are instead reared on our farm. Female Jersey calves are raised to join the milking herd, while we grow the Jersey bull calves to at least yearling age. When we use an Angus bull, we sell the offspring through the markets as beef animals.
Other animals on the farm include a few free-range pigs which we feed excess whey and other dairy waste to.
